This year’s Gala will feature a mariachi during the cocktail hour, followed by a three-course dinner program with our speakers and honorees.
Our keynote speaker will be California Judicial Appointments Secretary Luis A. Céspedes who will be receiving the 2026 Distinguished Service Award. We will be presenting Alameda County Superior Court Assistant Presiding Judge Lupe Garcia with the 2026 Judicial Excellence Award for her exemplary service to Alameda County. Our 2026 Community Champion Award recipient will be Hijas del Campo, a non-profit organization improving food security, working conditions, health, and safety for farmworkers and their families in the East Bay, while also providing immigration rapid response. We will also announce and celebrate the 2026 EBLRLA Scholarship recipients, the next generation of Latinx attorneys who will represent and fight for our community.
Parking: Self-parking and valet parking available. Parking validation will be offered at the underground garage at 98 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94607. Entrances at both Franklin/Embarcadero and Broadway/Embarcadero, past the railroad crossing gates. Other alternatives: uncovered parking lot next to underground garage. A farther parking option is the Washington Garage, 101 Washington Street, Oakland, CA 94607 at the intersection of Embarcadero West in front of the Regal Jack London theater. Please do not leave any valuables in your vehicle including electronics.
Public Transportation: Accessible by bus, BART, ferry, and train.

History: Since September 2002, the EBLRLA has organized Gala dinners in Downtown Oakland to fundraise for the EBLRLA Scholarship Fund which awards scholarships to law students who live, work, or study in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Additionally, we have honored Latinx judges and leaders over the past 20 years. Our Galas provide an opportunity for the local legal community to come together to support and celebrate past, present, and future Latinx lawyers.
