Advocating for increased representation of Latinas and Latinos in the judiciary is central to the EBLRLA’s mission.
With the new presidential administration, the EBLRLA is excited by the increased opportunities for experienced Latina/o lawyers to join the federal bench and continues its advocacy on state judicial appointments — in collaboration with other the other Bay Area La Raza Lawyers chapters and our statewide coalition.
In 2009, EBLRLA Board Member Luz Buitrago chairs the EBLRLA Judiciary Committee, which is composed of the EBLRLA board but open to the membership.
